Pat Laughlin is a Director of P2P and a
Research Associate at the Centre for Urban and Regional
Studies at the University of Birmingham. Pat has previously
held senior management posts in the mining industry, Toyota
UK and the BBC before joining the West Midlands Regional
Development Agency (Advantage West Midlands) as the
Director for Business Growth with responsibility for the
Business Enterprise and Growth, Learning and Skills and
Innovation programmes. She has built up a particular
expertise in project evaluation techniques and in
identifying best practice through detailed research with
service providers and users.
Jon East is a Director of P2P with
management experience of the full life cycle of businesses
and projects for over 15 years. Jon's background is in ICT
and Digital Media, and he co-founded one of the UK’s first
dedicated Internet companies in 1994 which won several
awards for its high profile websites. Jon specialises in
delivery planning, design of research and monitoring tools,
financial planning & monitoring, market research, data
gathering and analysis.
Gill Bentley is Director of the Masters
programme in Economic Development, Research and Policy in
the Centre for Urban and Regional Studies at the University
of Birmingham; and an Associate of P2P. Her principal
research interests include competitiveness and the regional
economy and the evaluation of performance of public
projects.
Philip Calcutt is an Associate of P2P. He
has extensive practitioner experience of marketing delivery
and working on public /private partnership projects. Philip
was formerly Marketing Director and Acting Chief Executive
of Birmingham Marketing Partnership. He drove the city’s
strategy of delivering added value support to attract and
retain major events such as the CBI conference, G8 summit,
Eurovision Song Contest and Davis Cup tennis.
Paul Nash is an Associate of P2P. He
became an independent project management consultant
following 35 years of local government experience in
urban and rural environments. He has been a representative
on regional bodies for ICT, European Rural Funding, and
Research, Technology and Innovation. Paul also has project
management qualifications as Prince 2 Practitioner and in
Managing Successful Programmes.
